European Awareness Days 2026

European Awareness Days 2026 in Sicily have come to a successful conclusion, bringing together policymakers, Members of the European Parliament, ministers, experts and stakeholders for three days of discussions on the future of the Mediterranean and Europe’s security.

Hosted in Catania and Palermo, the event focused on key challenges facing Europe, including security, migration, energy, connectivity, economic competitiveness, infrastructure and regional cooperation. Through a series of high-level panels and discussions, participants exchanged ideas and explored practical solutions for strengthening Europe’s strategic role in the Mediterranean.

The programme also highlighted the importance of preserving Europe’s cultural heritage, reinforcing cooperation between European nations and building policies that enhance stability, prosperity and resilience across the region.

The final day in Palermo, dedicated to the memory of the heroes who stood against the mafia, served as a reminder that the defence of freedom, justice and the rule of law remains fundamental to Europe’s future.

ECR Party extends its sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, partners and organisers who contributed to the success of European Awareness Days 2026. Together, we continue working towards a safer Mediterranean for a stronger Europe
