Giorgia Meloni, President of the ECR Party, declares that: “On Europe Day, European conservatives reaffirm their commitment to build a Europe of Nations, based on the principle of subsidiarity and on a confederal model in which the sovereignty and identities of National states are values to be defended. If the Conference on the Future of Europe, which opens today in Strasbourg, has this as its objective, our contribution can be expected. However, should the opposit prove true and we find yet another opportunity for the European federalists and the Left to strengthen the bureaucratic superstate in Brussels and attack the freedoms of the peoples, our opposition will be strong and determined.”
